Xi Xi was entrusted by Hung Fan Books to edit the book series “Selected Works of Mainland Chinese Novels in the 1980s”.

Xi Xi was among those who first introduced the then new novelists from mainland China–including Mo Yan, Wang Anyi, Han Shaogong, Jia Pingwa, Li Rui, Yu Hua–to Taiwan readers. Books in this series included Red Sorghum, Explosions, Attic and The Sixth Division.
